La Salle Academy dropped their record down to 10-4 on Thursday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell 3-0 to the Cumberland Clippers. The Rams were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Clippers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.
Jairo Martinez was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had since back in April.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. La Salle Academy will challenge North Providence at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Rams 3.5, the Cougars 2.5) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Cumberland, they will face off against Lincoln at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday.
