Baseball Recap: Southside Comes Up Short

Southside was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hokes Bluff Eagles. Panthers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Eagles since on Tuesday.

Southside's defeat dropped their record down to 19-10. As for Hokes Bluff, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 16-12.

While Southside had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
