With a playoff win on the line, Palmer Ridge rose to the challenge on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Montrose Red Hawks 31-29. The victory continues a trend for the Bears in their matchups with the Red Hawks: they've now won three in a row.

Palmer Ridge got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cole Harris out in front who threw for 182 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 44 yards. Zak Crisler was another key receiver, picking up 54 receiving yards.

Despite the defeat, Montrose had strong showings from Elijah Womack, who gained 166 total yards and a touchdown, and Cade Saunders, who rushed for 34 yards and one TD. Womack's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his ninth straight game with at least 106 rushing yards.

Palmer Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 13-0. As for Montrose, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 12-1.

Looking ahead, Palmer Ridge is taking a road trip to square off against Dakota Ridge at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Bears will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 31 points in their last ten contests. Montrose does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
