Basketball Recap: West Point-Beemer Skates Past Madison with Ease

There's no place like home for West Point-Beemer, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They claimed a resounding 45-18 win over the Madison Dragons. The Cadets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 20 points or more this season.

West Point-Beemer had a senior duo take command as Allie Kaup went 7 of 10 to rack up 14 points and three steals and Mia Hunke posted six points in addition to 12 rebounds and five assists. What's more, Hunke also racked up three steals, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Addison Toelle was another key player, putting up eight points and five boards.

West Point-Beemer's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-6. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.3 points over those games. As for Madison, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.

Looking ahead, West Point-Beemer will head out to challenge Oakland-Craig at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Madison, they will be playing at home against David City at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
