Basketball Recap: Washington Takes a Loss

Washington played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 64-25 loss at the hands of the Wyandotte Bulldogs. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-15.

Wyandotte's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaida Johnson, who went 5-for-9 on her way to 14 points and five steals. Those five steals gave Johnson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Promise Burton, who went 6-for-9 en route to 15 points and six steals.

Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Wyandotte, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Washington will square off against Atchison on Tuesday. As for Wyandotte, they will face off against Sumner Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
