Basketball Recap: Florida Christian Takes a Loss

Florida Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a blow against the Immaculata-La Salle Royal Lions, falling 51-15. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 457th, while the Royal Lions are ranked 222nd).

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Karla Reyes, who posted two points.

Immaculata-La Salle got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Alexandra Gonzalez Casar out in front who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Peilin Aguilar-Hou was another key player, putting up 12 points along with five assists and three steals.

Florida Christian's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-7. As for Immaculata-La Salle, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Florida Christian has already played their next matchup, a 38-29 loss against Divine Savior Academy on the 16th. As for Immaculata-La Salle, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-48 defeat against Marathon on the 9th.
