Open Door Christian Academy falls despite big games from Gabriel Blow and Parker Smith

After flying high against the Legacy HomeSchool Legends last Friday, the Open Door Christian Academy Conquerors came back down to earth. Open Door Christian Academy was the victim of a tough 58-32 defeat at the hands of the Crusaders on Friday. Open Door Christian Academy was down 52-24 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Parker Smith and Gabriel Blow certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Smith scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks, while Blow scored 12 points along with two steals. That was a full 62.5% of Open Door Christian Academy's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Open Door Christian Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Christian Academy of Louisiana racked up 21 assists.

Christian Academy of Louisiana's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andrew Messina, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Mason Stanley was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.

Open Door Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Christian Academy of Louisiana, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season.

Open Door Christian Academy will head out on the road to square off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant against one another: Eli Meylian and Smith. Christian Academy of Louisiana does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
