Volleyball Game Preview: Anthem Prep Eagles vs. Salome Frogs

Anthem Prep is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Salome is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Eagles will host the Frogs at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.

Anthem Prep is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering North Phoenix Preparatory Academy just ended the team's three-match winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Gladiators.

The final score came out to 25-21, 25-13, 25-20.

Salome won the last time they faced San Pasqual Valley and Brittny Soberanes did her part to make sure it happened again. The Frogs were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Warriors last Thursday for which the team can thank Soberanes, who had 18 assists and seven aces. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played.

Salome was especially dominant in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-16, 25-19.

Anthem Prep's loss dropped their record down to 18-5. As for Salome, their win bumped their record up to 12-5.

Anthem Prep took their victory against Salome in their previous matchup back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Frogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
