Baseball Recap: Middlesex Comes Up Short

Rappahannock hit Middlesex with a four-run sixth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Chargers fell 8-3 to the Raiders. The Chargers have struggled against the Raiders recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Middlesex saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Stith, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Stith has hit this season.

Middlesex's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Rappahannock, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.

Middlesex will square off against Mathews at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rappahannock, they will take on Lancaster at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Raiders 3.1, the Red Devils 2.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
