Softball Game Preview: Lakeland Thunderbirds vs. Medford Raiders

Lakeland hasn't had much luck against Medford recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Thunderbirds will challenge the Raiders. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Lakeland sitting on five straight wins and Medford on three.

Lakeland is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They didn't even let Mosinee on the board, marking the Thunderbirds' second-straight 1-0 shutout. The game was the first time the Thunderbirds have beaten the Indians on their field since April 24, 2023.

Meanwhile, Medford was able to grind out a solid victory over Merrill on Thursday, taking the game 7-3.

Medford's win bumped their record up to 20-7. As for Lakeland, their victory bumped their record up to 19-8.

Lakeland came up short against Medford in their previous matchup on May 6th, falling 3-0. Can the Thunderbirds avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
