Basketball Recap: Collinsville Drops Highest Score of Season Against Chico

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Collinsville). They snuck past the Chico Dragons with a 71-66 victory on Saturday. The win almost wasn't to be: the Pirates were down 43-26 in the second quarter.

Despite the loss, Chico still got an impressive performance from Jordan Weiland, who shot 8-for-13 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 40 points and 15 boards. Weiland is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Taylor Weiland was another key player, putting up nine points along with five rebounds and four steals.

With the victory, Collinsville broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-8. As for Chico, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-13.

Collinsville will take on Era at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chico, they will host Lindsay at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
