Recap: Le Mars Bulldogs vs. Lincoln Lynx
Make it six blowout wins for the Le Mars Bulldogs this season. They put the hurt on Lincoln with a sharp 71-49 win on Friday. Given Le Mars' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while Lincoln is ranked 132nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Lincoln saw an underclassman step up: Kamryn Hamilton scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hamilton has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie Naughton, who scored seven points.
Le Mars is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Lincoln, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Le Mars will take on Sioux City North at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sioux City North is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Lincoln, they will be playing at home against St. Albert at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Albert knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully Lincoln likes a good challenge.
