Softball Recap: East Hartford Takes a Loss

East Hartford fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Manchester on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Red Hawks by a score of 7-6. The Hornets' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it nine in a row.

Izzy Brito spent all ten innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven earned runs on 16 hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, Makaylah Serrano made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Jailyn Kershaw, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

East Hartford's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Manchester, their victory ended a ten-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-13.

As of now, neither East Hartford nor the Red Hawks have any future games scheduled.
