Basketball Game Preview: Valley Christian Warriors vs. Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory Fightin' Irish

Valley Christian is 2-8 against Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Valley Christian Warriors will head out to face off against the Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory Fightin' Irish at 7:30 p.m. Valley Christian has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Valley Christian is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Junipero Serra: they outscored them in every quarter. Valley Christian came out on top against Junipero Serra by a score of 64-52 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-43 heartbreaker at the hands of Bellarmine College Prep. While losing is never fun, the Fightin' Irish can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 253rd, while the Bells are ranked 54th).

Valley Christian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.

Everything went Valley Christian's way against Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory in their previous meeting back in January, as Valley Christian made off with a 64-38 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Valley Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
