Baseball Game Preview: Vanoss Wolves vs. Coalgate Wildcats

The Vanoss Wolves will square off against the Coalgate Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Vanoss and seven for Coalgate.

Last Monday, Vanoss came up short against Verden and fell 9-4. That's two games in a row now that the Wolves have lost by exactly five runs.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Coalgate challenged Durant on Thursday. Coalgate took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of Durant.

Easton Loudermilk made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Loudermilk wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Coalgate kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Vanoss' record is now 4-8. As for Coalgate, their record is now 4-10.

Vanoss couldn't quite get it done against Coalgate in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 5-0. Can Vanoss avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
