Basketball Recap: Echols County Comes Up Short

Echols County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 57-41 to the Lanier County Bulldogs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 60-42 back in January.

Echols County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Lanier County, their win bumped their record up to 12-8.

Echols County and Lanier County could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. Echols County will challenge Turner County at 7:30 p.m. on Monday down 329 places (531 vs. 202). Meanwhile, Lanier County (ranked 343rd) will meet Clinch County (ranked 167th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
