Softball Recap: Southeast Raleigh Bulldogs vs. Hillside Hornets
Southeast Raleigh was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat. They fell just short of the Hillside Hornets by a score of 18-17. Even if Southeast Raleigh couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.
Southeast Raleigh got a massive performance out of Mishael Armstrong, who scored three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Aileen Roorda, who scored two runs while going 1-for-5.
Southeast Raleigh's loss dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Hillside, their win ended an 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-7.
Southeast Raleigh will take on Clayton at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Clayton is strutting in with some hitting muscle, as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season. As for Hillside, they will head out on the road to square off against East Chapel Hill at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Hillside is no doubt hoping to put an end to a 13-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
