Baseball Game Preview: Turpin Spartans vs. Anderson Raptors

For the second straight game, Turpin will face off against Anderson. The Spartans will host the Raptors at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Turpin's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Anderson's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Monday, Turpin didn't have quite enough to beat Anderson and fell 7-6. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Anderson's part, Mason Glen looked comfortable as he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on TJ Beattie, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Eric Fleetwood, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Anderson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Anderson pushed their record up to 5-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Turpin, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.
