Basketball Recap: Muncie Burris Takes a Loss

Muncie Burris was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were beaten by the Anderson Prep Academy Jets 72-43. The Owls were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Jets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Loss or not, Muncie Burris got some senior leadership from Tyler Bennett and Gavin Mitchell. Bennett posted ten points and five boards, while Mitchell scored 16 points. Bennett is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 40% in the last three games he's played.

Anderson Prep Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Lincoln Fathauer out in front who went 9 of 19 en route to 24 points. Another player making a difference was Zamarion Bryant, who went 8 for 12 on his way to 17 points and eight rebounds.

Muncie Burris' defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Anderson Prep Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Muncie Burris has already played their next matchup, a 90-50 loss against Cambridge City Lincoln on the 8th. As for Anderson Prep Academy, they will square off against Knightstown at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Anderson Prep Academy's favor as the squad sits on six straight wins at home while Knightstown has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road.
