Baseball Recap: Henry Hudson Continues Home Dominance on Friday

Henry Hudson won the last time they faced Keyport and things went their way on Friday too. The Admirals came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 8-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Admirals.

Teddy Fariello was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Henry Hudson is undefeated when Fariello posts two or more runs, but 3-4 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on David Ortore, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Henry Hudson's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-4 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Burton, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Henry Hudson pushed their record up to 6-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Keyport, they now have a losing record of 5-6.
