Volleyball Recap: Kamryn Wilkey's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Reed-Custer over Peotone

Reed-Custer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 19th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 2-0 to the Peotone Blue Devils. The Comets were not able to make up for their defeat to the Blue Devils from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Peotone scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-18.

Reed-Custer's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kamryn Wilkey, who had ten digs. Alyssa Wollenzien also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Reed-Custer's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Peotone, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Reed-Custer didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Parkview Christian Academy on the 13th. As for Peotone, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Grant Park on the 15th.
