Baseball Recap: Morgan Park Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Morgan Park dropped their record down to 6-4-2 on Friday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins at home. They lost 12-4 to the Jones Eagles. That's two games in a row now that the Mustangs have lost by exactly eight runs.

As for Jones, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season. The result was nothing new for Jones, who have now won five contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

For Jones' part, they got a great performance from Gabe Manier as he struck out seven batters over 5.1 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits.

On the hitting side, Ellis Alexander was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Jones' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 6-7 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Christophe DeWijkerslooth, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.
