Baseball Recap: Montevideo Victorious

Montevideo lost to B O L D back in May of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Thunderhawks walked away with a 4-1 win over the Warriors. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 25, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Gannon Reidinger spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Montevideo got a big performance out of Griffin Epema, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That stolen base was Epema's first of the season. Brody Dack was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one double, and one RBI.

Montevideo's record is now 8-2. As for B O L D, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Montevideo beat B O L D by a score of 9-1 later that day.
