Basketball Recap: Breckinridge County Comes Up Short on the Road Against Sacred Heart + How To Watch

Breckinridge County had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against the Sacred Heart Valkyries on Monday, falling 65-42.

Several Fighting Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Josie Mitcham, who shot 45% from the field en route to 10 points. Mitcham is on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games she's played dating back to last season. Rowan Radaszewski was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Sacred Heart was led to victory by Bri Wilkins and Amirah 'Tootie' Jordan. Wilkins went 6-for-14 to rack up 22 points in addition to three steals and three blocks, while Jordan shot 67% from the field on her way to 20 points along with six assists and four steals. That's the most points Wilkins has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Emma Zutterman, who scored five points and nine boards.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Breckinridge County will host Cloverport at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Sacred Heart, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against South Laurel at 8:00 p.m.
