Baseball Recap: Mountain View Takes a Loss

Mountain View was the 7-5 winner over St. Mary when they last played one another back in March of 2016, but their luck changed this time around. The Mountain View Toros fell just short of the St. Mary's Knights by a score of 7-6 on Saturday. The Toros have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chasyn Cook was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Cook was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Duke Henrie made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one triple, and one run. Another player making a difference was Max Germaine, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

Mountain View's record now sits at 1-3. As for St. Mary's, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coming up, Mountain View will challenge Williams Field at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Mary's, they will face off against Coronado at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
