Volleyball Recap: Knox Takes a Loss

Knox lost against Kouts back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Redskins came up short against the Mustangs & Fillies, falling 3-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Redskins were not able to get on the board.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 26-24, 29-27.

Despite the defeat, Knox saw an underclassman step up: freshman Zoe Bullington had 11 digs and two aces. Those 11 digs set a new season-high mark for Bullington.

Bella Birky went supernova For Kouts., getting 16 digs and six aces. Those six aces gave Birky a new career-high.

This is the second loss in a row for Knox and nudges their season record down to 2-3. As for Kouts, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Looking ahead, Knox will square off against West Central at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Kouts, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against South Newton on the 21st.
