Erie is 8-2 against Mead since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Tigers will look to defend their home field  against the Mavericks  at 4:00  p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Erie barely beat Longmont the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers' pitchers stepped up to hand the Trojans  a   9-0 shutout  on Friday. The  win was nothing new for the Tigers as they're now sitting on five straight.
 Austin Sieckmann looked comfortable as he  tossed three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in five consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side,  Jack Carnival was a standout: he went 1-for-2 with two  runs, two  RBI,  and one  double. That's the most  runs  he has posted since back in March.  Josiah Hussey was another key player,  getting on base  in three of his five plate appearances with one  run, one  double,  and one  RBI.
 Erie  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Longmont only posted  an  OBP of  .276.
 Mead came out on top against Timnath  on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run seventh inning. The Mavericks put the hurt on the Cubs with a sharp  11-5 victory. The Mavericks not only won  on Friday, but they posted their biggest win  since April 12th (when they won  13-1).
 Mead has  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for Erie, their victory was  their fourth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 15-5.
 Erie couldn't quite get it done against Mead in their previous meeting  back in April of 2022 as they fell  11-7. Can the Tigers avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
