Baseball Recap: False River Comes Up Short

If False River was feeling good fresh off their 20-13 takedown of Family Christian last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. False River lost 16-1 to the St. John Eagles on Friday. The Gators haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Matthew Gradfeo made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

False River's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16-1. As for St. John, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 12-6.

Looking ahead, False River will square off against East Iberville at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for St. John, they will challenge Catholic of Pointe Coupee at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
