Basketball Game Preview: Holgate Tigers vs. Liberty Center Tigers

The Holgate Tigers and the Liberty Center Tigers will round out the year against one another at at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Holgate is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.

Holgate is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Napoleon on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Holgate was dealt a 44-14 defeat at the hands of Napoleon. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 27-3.

Meanwhile, Liberty Center was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Wauseon and fell 53-26. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 546th, while the Indians are ranked 145th).

Liberty Center's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Holgate, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.

Holgate lost to Liberty Center on the road by a decisive 33-14 margin when the teams last played on December 3rd. Can Holgate avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
