Basketball Recap: West Philadelphia Triumphs

West Philadelphia won the last time they faced Samuel Fels, and Khabir Washington did his part to make sure it happened again. The West Philadelphia Speedboys secured a 62-56 W over the Samuel Fels Panthers on Tuesday thanks in part to Washington, who posted 22 points and eight assists. He has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more assists the last ten times he's played.

Samuel Fels' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shamar Parker, who had 12 points. Izaaz Kornegay was another key player, putting up eight points.

West Philadelphia's record now sits at 7-4. As for Samuel Fels, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-6.

West Philadelphia wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 58-26 victory against Abraham Lincoln on the 9th. Samuel Fels has also already played their next game, a 78-29 loss against Imhotep Charter on the 9th.
