Softball Recap: North Baltimore Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

The matchup between North Baltimore and Leipsic on Thursday hardly resembled the 2-1 effort from their previous meeting. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over the Vikings. Considering the Tigers have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Layla Delancy was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Leah Trout, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

North Baltimore always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

North Baltimore has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Leipsic, they dropped their record down to 4-7 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, North Baltimore will head out to take on Ridgemont at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Gophers have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Leipsic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Kalida at 11:00 p.m. on Saturday.
