Basketball Recap: Forest Lake Christian's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Forest Lake Christian had lost seven straight headed into Friday's game, but Brendan Hooper didn't let it get to eight. The Forest Lake Christian Falcons blew past the Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning Fire Wolves 63-28 on Friday thanks in part to Hooper, who dropped a triple-double on 23 points, ten assists, and 12 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Forest Lake Christian's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Fenton, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. What's more, he also racked up four blocks, the most he's had since back in January of 2024.

Forest Lake Christian's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 5-9. As for Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Forest Lake Christian will square off against Sacramento Waldorf at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Sacramento Waldorf will roll in looking for their 13th straight victory, something Forest Lake Christian surely won't give up without a fight. Sierra Academy of Expeditionary Learning has already played their next contest (against John Adams Academy Rsvl/Lin), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
