Football Recap: Meadville's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Meadville needed a changed in momentum after dropping four straight games and they got it from Jordan Lawrence. The Bulldogs claimed a resounding 54-3 victory over the Franklin Knights with plenty of help from Lawrence, who rushed for 161 yards and four touchdowns on only eight carries. Meadville is 2-1 when Lawrence posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 0-4 otherwise.

Another player making a difference was Tymir Phillips, who gained 180 total yards and a touchdown. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 80 yards.

Meadville picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-5. As for Franklin, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Looking ahead, Meadville will take on General McLane at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will need to watch out since the Lancers have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups. As for Franklin, they will square off against Eisenhower at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
