Recap: Maxwell Panthers vs. Biggs Wolverines
The Maxwell Panthers suffered their biggest defeat since November 30, 2023 on Friday. They were beaten by Biggs 72-32. Maxwell was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-19.
Biggs' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emilio Vera led the charge by scoring 17 points along with six assists. Another player making a difference was Brady Smith, who scored 18 points along with two steals.
Maxwell's loss was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 7-11. As for Biggs, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maxwell the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Los Molinos at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully Los Molinos focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Friday. As for Biggs, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Williams at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Williams has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
