Lehi waltzed into their match on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They put the hurt on the Mountain Ridge Sentinels with a sharp 17-7 win. The Pioneers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten contests by six runs or more this season.
Lehi got a massive performance out of Brynlee Cook, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most hits Cook has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Sophie Bliss, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Lehi hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in ten consecutive games.
Lehi pushed their record up to 20-8 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Mountain Ridge, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 19-4 record this season.
Lehi does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mountain Ridge, they will challenge American Fork at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Sentinels are facing the Cavemen at the right time seeing as the Cavemen are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
