Howard Tech is 8-2 against Brainerd since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. The Howard Tech Hustlin' Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Brainerd Panthers at 2:30 p.m. Howard Tech will come in still looking for their first win of the season.

Last Tuesday, Howard Tech had to suffer through a 64-31 loss at the hands of East Hamilton. While losing is never fun, the Hustlin' Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 314th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 106th).

Meanwhile, Brainerd fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Sequatchie County on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 82-81 to the Indians. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brainerd now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Howard Tech, their record is now 0-5.

Howard Tech didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Brainerd in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 73-68 win. Does Howard Tech have another victory up their sleeve, or will Brainerd turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
