Basketball Game Preview: Okeechobee Brahmans vs. Pahokee Blue Devils

The Okeechobee Brahmans just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Pahokee Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with 12 losses in a row, Okeechobee turned things around against South Fork on Wednesday. They walked away with a 40-30 victory over the Bulldogs. The score was all tied up 17-17 at the break, but the Brahmans were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Pahokee over Glades Central in every quarter on their way to victory on Monday. Pahokee put the hurt on Glades Central with a sharp 37-13 win. The Blue Devils have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Okeechobee better keep an eye on Sa?Nya Flowers. She was instrumental in Pahokee's win, putting up 21 points. The game was Flowers' eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Karlissa Young, who posted 11 points.

Pahokee's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-7. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 18.0 points per game. As for Okeechobee, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-15.
