Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Gracyn Vanwey and Savanna Bramwell Lead Crest Ridge to Victory

Crest Ridge hadn't done well against Holden recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Crest Ridge Cougars came out on top in a nail-biter against the Holden Eagles, sneaking past 37-34. 37 seems to be a good number for the Cougars as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Crest Ridge was led to victory by Savanna Bramwell and Gracyn Vanwey. Bramwell posted six points and six rebounds, while Vanwey earned nine points. Those six points gave Bramwell a new career-high.

The win was the third in a row for Crest Ridge, bringing their record for this year to 3-0. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.3 points per game. As for Holden, they now have a losing record at 1-2.

Crest Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 64-29 victory against Wellington-Napoleon on the 9th. As for Holden, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-22 loss against Oak Grove on the 6th.
