Softball Recap: Cedar Creek Takes a Loss

Cedar Creek came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 17-1 to the McCallum Knights. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.

Cedar Creek saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was K Ramirez, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. L Hentschel also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Cedar Creek's loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-14. As for McCallum, their record is now 6-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cedar Creek will host Liberal Arts & Science Academy - Austin at 12:30 p.m. on Monday. Cedar Creek has given up an average of 14.1 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for McCallum, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Richards School for Young Women Leaders at 1:00 p.m. McCallum is facing Richards School for Young Women Leaders at the right time seeing as Richards School for Young Women Leaders is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
