Basketball Recap: Smyrna Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Smyrna came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Brentwood Bruins, falling 82-58. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their loss to the Bruins from their previous meeting back in November of 2016.

Despite the loss, Smyrna still got an impressive performance from Kaden Matthews, who went 8-for-19 on his way to 26 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Elliyon Kinzer, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 17 points.

Smyrna's defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Brentwood, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Coming up, Smyrna will challenge Nolensville at 1:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Brentwood, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lebanon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
