Preview: North Callaway Thunderbirds vs. Silex Owls
North Callaway is 10-0 against Silex since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The North Callaway Thunderbirds will face off against the Silex Owls at 5:30 p.m. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with nine consecutive losses for North Callaway and 21 for Silex.
North Callaway managed to keep up with Bowling Green until halftime on Tuesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. North Callaway was the victim of a tough 75-50 defeat at the hands of Bowling Green. North Callaway has not had much luck with Bowling Green recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Sam Pezold, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Isiah Craighead, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Silex had to suffer through a rough 69-38 loss at the hands of Van-Far. Silex was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-15.
North Callaway's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Silex, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.
Everything came up roses for North Callaway against Silex in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 78-47 victory. With North Callaway ahead 42-19 at the half, the game was all but over already.
