Columbian was the 3-1 winner over Lexington when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Tornadoes fell 3-1 to the Minutemen on Monday. The Tornadoes' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

While Columbian ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-17, 19-25, 25-22, 25-23.

Kaela Jenkins paced Columbian's offense, picking up 21 kills. Jenkins got some help from Avary Brown and her 32 assists. Brown was also solid from the service line: she led the team with eight aces.

Lexington can attribute much of their success to Maddie Ross, who had seven digs and three aces. That's the most digs Ross has posted over her last seven matchups.

Columbian's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Lexington, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.

Columbian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Clyde on the 7th. As for Lexington, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-1 defeat against Ashland on the 7th.
