Softball Recap: Ganado Drops Highest Score of Season Against Bloomington

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ganado). Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Bloomington Bobcats/Lady Cats a 20-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Bobcats/Lady Cats recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Kyla Stancik was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (four). She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kalyn Benavides, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Jordyn Bundick was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2.

Ganado hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bloomington struck out six times.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 7-2. As for Bloomington, their loss was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-6.

Ganado wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 7-4 win against Victoria West on the 27th. Bloomington has also already played their next match (against Industrial), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
