Softball Recap: Elgin Takes a Loss

Elgin lost against River Valley back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Comets came up short against the Vikings, falling 18-3. The Comets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chloe Atha was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season.

Elgin's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for River Valley, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1.

Coincidentally, Elgin and River Valley will both be playing Liberty Union the next time they take the field. The Comets will host the Lions at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Vikings will play them later in the day, at 3:00 p.m.
