Basketball Recap: Metamora Takes a Loss

After flying high against Canton last Friday, Metamora came back down to earth. The Metamora Redbirds took a 66-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Normal Community Ironmen. The Redbirds were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Ironmen apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Metamora's defeat dropped their record down to 21-6. As for Normal Community, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-4.

Metamora and Normal Community should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. Metamora (ranked 17th) will meet Pekin (ranked 301st) at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Normal Community will take on Mahomet-Seymour at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday up 206 places (42 vs. 248).
