Basketball Recap: Rothsay Comes Up Short

After flying high against Ashby on Thursday, Rothsay came back down to earth. The Rothsay Tigers fell just short of the Brandon/Evansville Chargers by a score of 63-61 on Friday. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Chargers from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

Rothsay has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Brandon/Evansville, they moved to 4-10 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Rothsay and Brandon/Evansville could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings. Rothsay (ranked 224th) will meet Underwood (ranked 71st) at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Brandon/Evansville will take on West Central Area at 7:15 p.m. on Monday down 169 places (234 vs. 65).
