Baseball Recap: Johansen Comes Up Short

Johansen extended their losing streak to nine on Thursday, dropping them down to 1-12. They lost 10-0 to the Central Valley Hawks. The Vikings were not able to make up for their defeat to the Hawks from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

As for Central Valley, they pushed their record up to 11-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The result was nothing new for the Hawks, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

For Central Valley's part, Fernando Dominguez was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Dominguez was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mason Whitworth, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February. Ezequiel Verduzco was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Central Valley beat Johansen by a score of 12-0 later that day.
