Flag Football Recap: Rio Rico Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Rio Rico extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 3-4. They took a blow against the Casa Grande Cougars, falling 36-3. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona flag football rankings (they are ranked 82nd, while the Cougars are ranked tenth).

As for Casa Grande, their win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won five contests by 20 points or more so far this season.

Sarah Mountz produced another solid performance throwing for 175 yards and five touchdowns while completing 72.2% of her passes, and also rushing for 59 yards and one TD on only five carries. That's the most rushing yards she has posted since back in October of 2024.

Rio Rico didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 49-0 defeat against Salpointe Catholic on the 16th. As for Casa Grande, they have also already played their next matchup, a 13-0 victory against Nogales on the 16th.
