Basketball Recap: Prince Jones-Bynum's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Cinco Ranch over Bellaire

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Cinco Ranch couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost to the Bellaire Cardinals on the road by a 70-51 margin on Friday. The Cougars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cardinals apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2017.

Cinco Ranch's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Prince Jones-Bynum, who went 5-for-12 to rack up 16 points and six boards. Jones-Bynum's big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Norman, who went 5-for-9 en route to 14 points.

Cinco Ranch has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 27-9 record this season. The win (which was Bellaire's sixth in a row) raised their record to 23-10.

Cinco Ranch does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bellaire, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 75-66 victory against Summer Creek on the 25th.
