Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Cedar Hill

Cedar Hill had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Horn Jaguars.

Julian Gonzalez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up 14 Ks. He has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Denver Gillin was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Another player making a difference was Evan Smith, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Cedar Hill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Cedar Hill pushed their record up to 18-4-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Horn, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-11.
